Broccolini, also known as baby broccoli, is very similar to regular broccoli but it has small florets and long, thin stalks. Not all grocery stores carry broccolini, I can really only find it in one grocery store around here! Here is one of the best steamed broccolini recipes I have ever made!

This is an easy side dish but restaurant quality! It has become my favorite way to cook broccolini with creamy goat cheese and crispy shallots. This healthy side dish pairs well with my Sweet Maple Turkey Meatloaf!

    Storing

    1. Let it cool: Allow the cooked broccolini to cool down to room temperature before storing it.
    2. Prepare container: Get an airtight container or resealable bag ready for storing.
    3. Pack it up: Transfer the cooled broccolini into the container or bag.
    4. Remove air: Squeeze out any excess air from the container or bag before sealing it tightly.
    5. Refrigerate: Place the container in the fridge and eat within 3-4 days.
    6. Reheat: When you're ready to eat it again, gently reheat the broccolini on the stove or in the microwave

How to Make Steamed Broccolini Recipe:

    Whip the goat cheese:

In a food processor, whip together all of the ingredients for the whipped goat cheese. Pulse until it is nice and creamy. Spread the whipped goat cheese on a platter and set to the side.

    Cook broccolini:

Boil salted water in a large pot. Once boiling, add the broccolini and cook for about 4 minutes, or until the broccolini is a vibrant green color. Remove from pot and set aside.

    Prep the shallot:

While the broccolini is cooking, thinly slice the shallot.

    Fry the shallots:

Heat olive oil over medium-high heat in a large skillet. Make sure the oil is heated up in the hot pan. Add the shallots and garlic and cook until they are crispy. Once crispy, add the salt and pepper, mix, and remove from the heat.

    Assemble the dish:

Place the cooked broccolini over the whipped goat cheese and top with the crispy shallots.
