Valentine’s Day is around the corner and I have the perfect puff pastry breakfast recipe for you!

What I love about this recipe is that it turns out CUTE with the heart-shaped strawberries (if you choose to do so) and it is extremely easy! Also, there are no beaten eggs or egg wash involved like many of the puff pastry recipes out there… making it that much easier.

If puff pastries make your taste buds happy like mine, I will list out other puff pastry breakfast ideas and links to other recipes! You can also make this as a dessert!

    Storing

Storing these breakfast pastries is pretty simple!

    Storing unused puff pastry:

    Refrigeration:

Once you've opened the puff pastry package, store any unused sheets in the refrigerator. Place them in an airtight container or seal them in a plastic wrap to prevent drying out.

    Freezing:

If you don't plan to use the puff pastry immediately, you can freeze it. Wrap the sheets tightly in plastic wrap or aluminum foil, and then place them in a freezer bag. Make sure to label and date the bag for easy identification.

    Thawing:

When you're ready to use the frozen puff pastry, transfer it to the refrigerator and let it thaw overnight. Avoid thawing at room temperature to maintain its texture.

    Storing the baked puff pastry:

    Refrigeration:

Store the strawberry puff pastries in an airtight container and eat within 3-4 days.

How to Make Valentine’s Day Strawberry Puff Pastry:

Thaw the sheet of puff pastry:

Thaw the puff pastry for about 30 minutes at room temperature.

    Preheat the oven:

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Spread a sheet of parchment paper onto the baking sheet.

    Cut the puff pastry:

Cut the puff pastry into six 4-inch rectangles using the folds as a guide. With a fork, poke the centers of the puff pastries.

    Bake:

Place the squares of puff pastry on the baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes or until they are golden brown and puffed up.

    Press the center down:

Remove from the oven, take a fork, and press down in the center of each pastry.

    Spread the jam:

Take about 1 tablespoon of jam and spread over each puff pastry. Bake for an additional 2 minutes.

    Arrange the strawberries:

Take the sliced strawberries and arrange them over the pastries - I like to cover the whole puff pastry!

    Make the glaze:

Make the glaze by mixing all 3 ingredients in a small bowl and drizzle over the puff pastries. You can always add less heavy cream, check the consistency, and add more if needed.
